You've booked our Two-Day Lost Wax Casting Workshop.
This workshop includes both the wax carving experience and a return finishing session.
Download for details on what you can make, how the process works and what to expect in class.
On Day 1, you'll spend 2.5 hours designing and carving your own ring or pendant from wax. After your workshop, we'll professionally cast your jewellery overnight in sterling silver using the traditional lost wax casting process.
On Day 2, you'll return to our studio to learn traditional silversmithing techniques as you finish your own piece. You'll file, sand and polish your jewellery by hand under the guidance of one of our jewellers, giving you the satisfaction of completing your piece from start to finish.

Wax is a soft, forgiving material that allows you to shape, carve and refine your design with ease. Our jewellers will guide you throughout the process so you can confidently create something that feels personal and beautifully made.
During the workshop you can:
-
Create a clean, minimal design or explore texture and sculptural forms.
-
Press your fingerprint into your piece.
-
Carve a more detailed or organic design.
-
Add gemstones, which can be professionally set after casting.
Once your wax model is complete, we cast it into solid sterling silver using the traditional lost wax casting process. Your design is encased in a mould, the wax is melted away, and molten silver is poured into its place, creating an exact silver replica of your original carving.
This process produces crisp details, refined edges and a level of precision that isn't possible with faster casting methods. The result is a beautifully crafted piece with the weight, finish and presence of fine jewellery.
Important Information
Your jewellery will be cast overnight following your first workshop.
Please remember to return for your booked Day 2 finishing session, where you'll complete your jewellery with the guidance of one of our jewellers.
If your design includes gemstones, additional setting time may be required after your finishing session. Please discuss your travel plans with your jeweller if you have a deadline.
If you're looking for a workshop where you leave with your jewellery on the same day, our Sand Casting Workshop and Ring Band Workshop can both be completed in a single session. Those workshops offer a faster experience, while the lost wax process allows for greater precision, finer detail and a more refined final result.
